International. As part of the proposals launched by the European Commission on 30 November 2016, the introduction of an intelligence indicator for buildings with a number of aspects that they must meet was forecast.
According to the indicator, a smart building must be adjusted to the needs of the user and provide information on operational energy consumption.
Regarding the functions of this intelligence indicator, the description is as follows:
- Adjustment of user needs and strengthening of building occupants by providing information on operational energy consumption (complementing the energy performance information provided in the EPC).
- Ensure efficiency and comfortable construction operation especially when systems need maintenance or repair.
- Preparing the building to participate in demand response, recharging electric vehicles and hosting energy storage systems.
In addition, it has launched a tender proposal (ENER/C3/2016-554) entitled Support for setting up a Smart Readiness Indicator for Buildings and related impact assessment.
