Colombia. Medellin remains attractive for foreign direct investment. Now the capital of Antioquia is in the crosshairs of one of the largest communities of buildings for rent for university students in the United States and Canada that this year opens in Bogotá.
In Medellín there is a deficit of accommodation for the hundreds of young people from other cities of the country who want to study their university career here; that's what investors want to tap into through mega-residential projects.
"We build buildings designed specifically for students. It is a place with spaces that promote community life: study rooms, meditation, art, games, gym, terrace, among others. Likewise, there are six types of apartments and all have the necessary furniture to be installed immediately. We do not rent apartments, we rent a fully equipped dormitory," explains Anthony Dibiase, director of the Livinn project in Bogotá, the first building of its kind to open in the country's capital in May – with capacity for 402 students – and which in December begins construction in Barranquilla.
The purpose of CA Ventures in Medellín is to design, build, develop and manage one or more properties focused on providing a student housing solution.
U.S. investors are studying what would be the best area of the city of Medellin to install this new concept.
