Colombia. Sodexo, a global organization that promotes and facilitates services aimed at improving people's Quality of Life, reaffirms its position as one of the largest employers in Colombia.
This is evidenced by the recognition made by Cerrejón, which identifies Sodexo as an ally in the fight against unemployment in the region, endorsing its contribution and commitment to the prioritization and generation of opportunities for communities.
"At Sodexo we are constantly looking for opportunities and possibilities to contribute to society. We believe that generating decent jobs that promote the Quality of Life of employees is one of the ways to fight inequality, the lack of economic development opportunities and the most effective way to promote inclusion," said Juan Pablo Castillo, Director of Corporate Affairs at Sodexo.
According to the most recent economic profile of La Guajira made by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, the department has an unemployment rate of 14.3%, a figure that Sodexo has struggled to impact from its services in Cerrejón since 2016.
For Sodexo, generating employability opportunities is one of the main objectives as an organization at a global and local level.
"It is a pride and a call to continue improving our work and impact on the employability of La Guajira. The recognition we received from Cerrejón is an additional motivation to continue contributing to the Well-being and Quality of Life of the population," castillo concluded.
