Colombia. The French multinational Sodexo has more than 427,000 employees globally and in Colombia with more than 10,500. For this reason, within its social responsibility project is to help reduce unemployment in the country through training and labor inclusion for the people who need it most.
Only during the month of November unemployment in Colombia grew 0.9% compared to the same period of 2016, which represents 2.09 million people without work in the country. For this reason, the Sodexo Foundation, with the collaboration of the National Learning Service (Sena), trained 814 people in 2017.
In this initiative, programs focused on specialized cleaning were included; basic kitchen and nutritional care, and diet for patients, this, with the aim of generating knowledge that serves in the labor market and thus reduce unemployment.
Of these 814 trained people, 322 were hired and are now Sodexo employees. The other 492, according to a follow-up report carried out by the company every three months, are already located in different companies.
