Colombia. Adriana Salcedo Gómez, administrator of tourism and hotel companies, is the new Country President for Sodexo Colombia. In her career she has served as the company's director of operations, assuming the management of operational segments in areas such as mining, health and corporate from different parts of Latin America where Sodexo has operations.
"Her experience in achieving successful and profitable results has made her suitable to assume the general direction of Sodexo, world leader in Quality of Life, in her native country after 24 years of hard work within it and having been in charge of different operational directions in countries such as Chile, Peru and Argentina", the company said in a statement.
"The most important challenge is to lead the company to sustainable growth, doubling the sales figure within Colombia in a period of no more than 5 years, and maintain profitability at double digits," says Salcedo.
Another of the main objectives is to encourage institutional policies that balance the balance of opportunities for promotion and leadership, without discriminating against any person on the basis of gender, race, disability, economic situation or sexual preference.
In this regard, Sodexo demonstrated through a case study on the "Gender Balance", that the results in the sample where the balance between men and women was maintained, it was possible to show better financial and non-financial indicators than in the opposite cases. The sample was 50,000 Site Managers and other administrative positions in 70 subsidiaries worldwide.
Salcedo points out that to achieve this result you must start with a pedagogy of leadership and accompaniment, in this way it is possible to retain the staff and make it grow together with the company, as well as factors such as engagement, acceptance and recognition in the business world. The new Country President affirms that within Sodexo there is no preference for any gender and that the opportunity for promotion is within everyone's reach.
