According to the Center for Economic Studies of the Construction Sector (CESCO), in 2018 a slight growth of the construction industry of between 0.3 to 1% is expected, considering that the budgetary physical investment for 2018 will have a real growth of 4.7% compared to what was registered in 2017.
Also, on the part of private investment, residential real estate construction for middle and upper strata , as well as the growth of tourism, commercial and service infrastructure , and the reconstruction stage after the earthquakes of the past September 2017, will be the drivers of construction this year.
For their part, experts point out that the real estate sector in Mexico will grow between 4 and 5% during 2018, double what was forecast by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) for the country's economy, which is 2.4%. 2
