The Official College of Quantity Surveyors and Technical Architects of Madrid (COAATM) through the Building School Foundation launches the second edition of the Master in Facility Management for the 2018-2019 academic year that will begin on November 20 at the headquarters of the Building School Foundation.
According to IFMA data, the figure of the facility manager can make a company save 30% of the expenses of a company, expenses that include from the rental of the offices, hiring of the light, the consumption of office supplies, the repair of the facilities, in short, services related to the correct operation, conservation and maintenance of the facilities in which a company is located. Positive data that highlight more than ever the importance of specialization and that show that there is a good opportunity to make the decision to sign up for the specialized training offered by the College and the Building School Foundation.
Although it is a very recent and underdeveloped discipline in our country, it is estimated that facility management moves in Spain around 10-12% of GDP estimated taking into account both the private and public spheres. Felipe Aparicio, Director of the Business Development Area of the College underlines the importance of training for professionals in the sector at the moment: "our sector is a living sector that is constantly changing, and as a consequence, new professional figures emerge, and that is where the school is present. Faced with this event, workers in the building sector have to be prepared and avoid stagnating. For this we must train ourselves to meet the new challenges that are present in real life. The academic offer of the College and the Foundation are aimed at training students with knowledge, processes and specialized and cutting-edge tools for day-to-day work".
The Master in Facility Management is a program aimed at professionals with technical profiles interested in the specialization in the management of services associated with the commissioning and exploitation of real estate assets. Students acquire knowledge of optimization and efficient management of energy supplies, maintenance of facilities, and organization of value-added services to the building. The objective of this Master is to train students who pass it, to develop the general management and support activities carried out by organizations in their buildings. At the end of the Master, students will be prepared to be part of real estate management teams and their support services of any organization.
