According to a study prepared by Netsuus, a company specialized in the online market, 72% of the keywords used by search engines to drive traffic to travel websites are brands. Netsuus has analyzed more than 1,200 unique keywords used by users to search for travel content on Google, MSN and Yahoo, between March and May 2007, and that direct to websites of airlines, travel agencies, or hotels, among other business sectors. More than half of the searches, 56%, were conducted with a single word, 38% with two, and only 6% with three words. Thus, the fourth and fifth place in this ranking are headed by a set of two words in which a brand also appears, 'guia+campsa' and 'via+michelin', which account for 1.9% respectively. The next one formed by two terms is already a search with generic concepts, 'flights + cheap', which appears in seventh place, with 1.59% of visits, while only 8% of the times referred to a destination.
