Mexico. The National Electoral Institute (INE) of Mexico is in the process of implementing an ambitious process of improvement, renovation and modernization of its headquarters, a project that will have as its main axis the search for a more sustainable property. To achieve this, the entity opened a contest, which already has 119 participants, to choose the company in charge of the process.
The National Contest of Ideas, name of the call for renewal of the INE, is a national call aimed at Mexican professionals, accredited with a professional certificate recognized by the Ministry of Public Education (SEP), such as architect, engineer, urban planner, landscaper, territorial planner or graduate in human settlements.
As for the bases of the contest, beyond the regulatory and legal limitations, the INE points out that there is no type of restriction against taking advantage of or discarding existing buildings, carrying out extensions or remodeling.
Bogart Montiel Reyna, executive director of administration of the INE, said that this project "aspires to an infrastructure according to current and future demand, which generates the positive synergies derived from having the presence of most areas in one place. Among others, greater efficiency in the operation, generation of direct and indirect economic savings and use of common spaces and services".
