Mexico. The growing interest of governments and private companies to increase the use of renewable energies has led the company SunEdison, in conjunction with Flextronics, to inaugurate an assembly plant for solar modules in the city of Chihuahua with the capacity to assemble 27 thousand modules of this type per week, and reach 1.3 million solar panels per year.
Peter Eschenbach, CEO of SunEdison Mexico, said that the solar energy market in Mexico is in a stage of growth in the country. "Mexico is an important country for our growth in the region since there is a growing demand for energy and a strong government commitment to diversify the energy matrix, increasing the electricity production capacity with renewable energy sources," said the director.
In addition, Eschenbach revealed that the panels produced at the plant are used in power projects for large plants and installations on commercial roofs and homes in Chile, the United States and Europe.
