Mexico. During the second quarter of 2015, the real estate investment trust Fibra Uno reported a growth in its rental income of 12%, as well as an increase in its real estate portfolio of 10% thanks to several new acquisitions made in this period.
Specifically, the firm's rental income reached an amount of 2,275 million Mexican pesos (more than US$140 million). This was driven by major acquisitions made between April and June that include 6 shopping malls, 13 urban university campuses and several development plots.
In total, investment in acquisitions during the aforementioned period reached 18,000 million pesos, and added more than 500,000 square meters of gross profitable area. Currently, the company's total portfolio is 475 properties and 6.7 million square meters.
