Latin America. In the centers of agglomeration of people in LATAM at first glance there are preventive measures against fire, but for experts there is a lack of controls and awareness so that they do not do it only to obtain authorizations, but for a culture of safety.
Following the last fire recorded in the Fidalga Shopping Mall (Russia), the fifth in 12 years in this supermarket chain, a tour of scenarios where there is an agglomeration of hundreds of people such as supermarkets, movie theaters, shopping centers, theaters and churches, allows us to observe that, to different degrees, they have fire extinguishers, hydrants, smoke detectors, alarms and emergency exits as fire safety measures.
Even the administrators of some of these premises claim that they comply with all the rules and that they train their staff with all the regulations that must be controlled by the authorities.
However, although what is appreciated at first glance can give the feeling of 'prevention' and compliance with the rules, for experts it is not so, because they consider that it is done with the basics to have permits, to be able to build and operate.
This indicates that it must not only comply but must go further because in terms of fires what is at stake is the lives of people.
