Building managers of all types and from any sector: institutional, corporate, business, residential or industrial, seem to belong to an almost forgotten guild. And it is that when everything turns out perfectly they are that "invisible hand" that makes everything in place and that works perfectly.
Faced with the most insignificant failure in a building, chaos arises and the property manager appears as a super hero to solve the problem. It is then that tenants, employees or those who stay longer in a place remember with need, rather than gratitude, the building manager, their facility manager.
It is for this reason that from BUILDING MANAGEMENT we pleasantly highlight the work of this character in all environments and industries. We are fully aware of the importance of their role in the production chain of any company and, precisely, from their essential work is born the enormous need for training and training they require to carry out their trade with quality.
In Latin America, this idea has been gaining strength, which has become more a clear objective of the guild of building and real estate managers: to be in constant updating and learning. Both technicians and professionals are emphatic in affirming that it is urgent to expand an inclusive academic offer with all the cities of the region and that addresses all levels of training in the trade of facility manager.
To this call have been added associations, universities and private companies, promoting initiatives that meet this need. Some of them are TecnoEdificios and RefriAméricas, academic congresses, which together with the Association of Modern Building Managers (AGEM), have been consolidating themselves as an alternative high-level training and promoting spaces in which collaborative ideology, networking and sharing knowledge are the fundamental premise.
We therefore invite our readers to continue enriching this dynamic of formation with their ideas and concerns, never to lose their thirst for knowledge, since evolution, growth and strengthening for the benefit of the region are derived from it.
