The new offices of Johnson & Johnson, located in Bogotá, are now part of the select group of 7 LEED Platinum certified buildings in the country, recognition of the highest distinction in sustainable construction. The company's offices have 10,500 m2 positioning it as the project with the most footage in this category, also achieving one of the highest scores that a construction in Colombia has reached.
Johnson & Johnson's offices, inaugurated in March of this year, bring together the company's three business areas (Medical Devices, Consumer and the Janssen pharmaceutical line), its Logistics Services for customers and its Global Multifunctional Services Center for the Latin American region.
"We thank the company Arquitectura e Interiores, leader in design and construction of offices, for their commitment and rigorous work in the development of the design, construction and LEED advice that they provided us from the initial moment. Thanks to this, we obtained 87 points to achieve this recognition," said María Elisa Martínez, Vice President of Human Resources for Latin America at Johnson & Johnson.
Johnson & Johnson achieved a perfect score in water use, innovation and design, additionally achieved the highest rating in Sustainables Sites, that is, it integrates with the environment where the project is located.
The creation of these new offices focuses on the work Johnson & Johnson has been leading for more than 50 years to contribute to Colombia's growth and improve the well-being of its employees. Currently, the country has 122 LEED certified projects, this certification system is the most important sustainability system in the world and was created by the United States Green Building Council, usGBC (U.S. Green Building Council), which rates buildings in four categories: Leed, Silver, Gold and Platinum.
