30% claim to use the laptop even when they are in the pool because it is impossible for them to disconnect from work
A survey conducted by Hotels.com reveals that 61% of Spaniards find it impossible to disconnect from work during the holidays, using all kinds of technological devices such as Blackberries or laptops to be in contact with the office.
The survey of more than 2000 travelers* reveals that in times of crisis employees find it impossible to disconnect and want to show their superiors that they are working even if they are not. According to the data revealed by the study, 45% of Spaniards claim to work about 30 minutes a day during a week of vacation.
The survey therefore reveals three types of workaholics, the first group being those who connect a couple of times during the holidays (35%), the second confesses that at least once a day (23%) while in third place we have those who do it one day yes, one day not (10%).
Working during holidays in Europe
Topping the list are the French who have revealed themselves to be true workaholics as 68% confess to being assiduous to this practice, followed closely by the Irish with 67%. In last place we find the English whose result, however, exceed more than half of half of their active population with 55% and in a sixth place and breaking myths the Spaniards are placed in front of the Danes when it comes to working during the holidays with 61%.

Why do we work during the holidays?
Of the total number of workers in summer, the vast majority admit to doing so because they know what is happening in the office (47%) while 33% admit that they do so because they save time when it comes to returning to the world of work. The same admits that his boss forces him to do so (14%) while another group fears for his future work in the company (12%).

Hotels.com's Director of Communication, Alison Couper, highlights the true meaning of the holiday, saying: "Holidays are the time of year to disconnect from work and relax. A solution to this problem may be to agree with the couple an hour to check the Blackberry, avoiding discussions about work.
