With the achievement of the UNIVERSAL ACCESSIBILITY CERTIFICATE UNE 170001-2 by the Confortel Menorca hotel, the Confortel hotel chain, belonging to the ONCE Business Corporation, has become the only firm in the hospitality segment to certify all its establishments as 100% accessible.
The certificate is delivered by AENOR and certifies that the establishment has implemented an Accessibility Management System, which guarantees that anyone, whether or not they have a disability, has the same possibilities of access and enjoyment of the hotel facilities.
The accessibility works carried out in recent months focused on the adaptation of four apartments (two of one bedroom and two of two), and provision of parking spaces for people with reduced mobility. In addition, work was carried out to improve access at the main entrance of the hotel and in the recreation areas.
For example, a crane was installed in the pool that facilitates the enjoyment of it for people with reduced mobility, and a shower was adapted for the same purpose. Restaurants, cafes and bathrooms were also adapted, as were the common areas.
