As one of the best luxury hotels, the Conrad Tokyo was recognized, according to the publication Michelin Guide Tokyo 2008. At the same time, the China Blue restaurant, located within the same hotel complex, was worthy of a star thanks to its culinary excellence. This guide of hotels and restaurants based the recognition on the mixture of elegance and Japanese modernity that merge in the Conrad Tokyo, thus placing it within the highest category of luxury hotels in the city. The use of such traditional materials as stone and wood, added to the views of the Hamarikyu Gardens, the Tsukiji Market, Tokyo Bay and a swimming pool overlooking the Urban Landscape of Shiodome, are some of the characteristics that define this luxurious hotel in the Asian country. "We are happy to receive this compliment, we pride ourselves on offering a unique place and luxury services. Our guests appreciate the Japanese character, the hotel's distinctive design and spectacular views," said Gregor Andréewitch, general manager of Conrad Tokyo.
For its part, China Blue was the only restaurant that received recognition from the publication. The wine list, the view, construction, decoration, environment, welcome and services, were decisive factors to receive the award.
"I am very honored that our cuisine has been recognized, confirming that China Blue offers one of the best Chinese cuisines in Asia. This award serves to reaffirm the passion present in our staff and the precision with which we fulfill our roles in our restaurants and throughout the hotel," concluded Albert Tze, Chief Chef of China Blue.
