On September 10, the "First International Congress of Food Service 2008, the power of food outside the home" will be held at the Transamerica Expo Center in Sao Paulo, Brazil, organized by the Brazilian Association of Food Industries ABIA and supported by companies such as Nestlé and institutions such as the Ministry Brazilian Foreign Trade and the Secretariat of Agricultural Defense of that country. One of the main objectives of this event will be to socialize knowledge among operators and distributors about the industry at regional, national and international level.An approximation will also be sought between the industry and the operators of the food services segment in order for both guilds to achieve greater productivity and profitability. In addition, the future of the industry in its productive sectors and operating chains will be discussed.
The event will be attended by 300 congressmen and opinion formers, including representatives from the food industry, the service industry (logistics and transport, packaging, hygiene and cleaning, technology, among others) and food service operators from all over Latin America.
Although the academic program of this congress is still in the consolidation phase, ABIA confirmed that topics such as the growth of the Brazilian food service market, innovation and renewal within the industry, among others.
