InterContinental Hotels Group has presented a virtual hotel "100% respectful with the environment", whose characteristics it intends to become standard for all its brands. Initially the establishment has been placed on the company's website for guests to comment on it, according to Hosteltur magazine.
"We want to know what the 'green' features are really important to our customers before we make them part of our brand standards. This gives them the opportunity to participate to enhance their convictions," said David Jerome, senior vice president of Corporate Responsibility for the group.
"We are convinced that people who already do their bit to take care of the environment when they are at home will also be interested in doing the same when they stay in a hotel. Responsible tourism is about growing in a way that makes business sense, while minimizing our impact on the environment and community."
