Four new IHG hotels for Latin America

The Intercontinental hotel group, which has been serving Latin America for more than 60 years and currently has more than 170 hotels in Mexico, Central America, South America and the Caribbean, is expanding its presence in the region by building and operating new hotels. In Costa Rica, IHG inaugurates the new Club InterContinental Tower at the Real InterContinental Hotel & Club Tower Costa Rica, located in the metropolitan area of Escazú, which has eight floors, 98 rooms, spa, executive club lounge, private lobby and reception area with port-cochère.

With the refurbishment and upgrade of the original building and the construction of the new Club InterContinental Tower, The Real InterContinental now has 372 rooms, five different restaurants and lounges.

Real Hotels & Resorts, the company that owns and manages the hotel, made a strong investment to create this new InterContinental Tower Club, in addition to completing the renovation of the original building. One of the highlights of the hotel's new look is its urban spa, the largest in Central America, and one of the largest executive club lounges and presidential suite in the region.

The new tower will operate independently of the original building, but both locations will share the spa, restaurants, pool and gym; Additionally within the new luxuries of the buildings, all rooms feature 37-inch LCD TVs. As an IHG member, Club Tower will offer Club InterContinental's exclusive services, such as high-end amenities, butler service, breakfast in the Executive Club Lounge, cocktails and sunset canapés.

IHG also increases its presence in the country with the recent renovations of the Holiday Inn Aurola San Jose and the Crowne Plaza Corobici San José, with 213 rooms, in addition to the opening of its fifth hotel in Santa Ana, which will operate under the Indigo brand, being the first of this brand in the region.

This hotel, which will have an investment of $12 million and will be located near the Forum II corporate office complex, will have three floors and a total of 100 rooms. Indigo will operate under the concept of a boutique and will open in the first quarter of 2009. The target audience of this hotel are tourists and business travelers.

In Ecuador, the group opened the Holiday Inn Express Quito, the 14th hotel of this brand located in Central and South America. The new Holiday Inn Express Quito, with 12 floors and  141 rooms, is located on Orellana Avenue and Reina Victoria Street and was developed by its owners and managers, Plushotel S.A., under a franchise with a company of the InterContinental Hotels Group.

The hotel mixes the style of nature of Ecuador with its orchids, its native birds, different mountain peaks and the popular Galapagos Islands through a photographic exhibition located on its 12 floors. Among the amenities it offers are: purified water, high definition televisions, wifi, soundproof windows, a business center, meeting rooms, indoor pool and gym, in addition to an underground parking with 197 spaces.

This same brand, Holiday Inn Express, began operations in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico through the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Ciudad Juárez-Las Misiones hotel, which will provide travelers with a reliable, efficient and casual service, framed in the  SimplySmart™ service philosophy and Smart Connect™ technology (high-speed Internet connectivity in all areas and calls). complimentary premises).

The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Ciudad Juárez-Las Misiones, has 182 rooms including 30 Suites, the comfort of the "Smart Bathroom", Express® Breakfast, a varied bar of juices, fruits, yogurt, cereals, exquisite box and sweet breads, assortment of coffees and three options of hot dishes. Also its guests can enjoy an outdoor pool, gym, business center, event rooms, airport shuttle, parking lots and business center and nearby commerce. The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Ciudad Juarez-Las Misiones hotel is operated by Hoteles Prisma de México.
