Marc Denis Bertrand, general manager of the Hotel Fiesta Americana Grand Guadalajara in Mexico, who was born in Lyon, France, but who grew up between the state of Mexico and the federal district, considers that a hotel is not only a room to sleep, but a whole experience that the guest lives; It also states that a manager must set objectives that essentially achieve the satisfaction of guests and customers, his team and investors, which are the three essential elements for a hotel to exist.According to him, the hospitality industry has a good future in Latin America despite the economic crisis, as some destinations such as Europe are no longer as profitable for tourists' trips due to the exchange rate, while the most economical and exotic destinations such as those found on this side of the continent are drawing attention much more strongly.
Likewise, the evolution of Mexico has been very important in recent years thanks to the improvement of both land and air communication routes, with which traveling is easier: there are more routes and prices are more accessible, which results in an expansion of the hotel offer.
There is still much to be done in this field, however it is important to emphasize that a good manager must always be on the lookout, seeking the improvement of his establishment, through innovation, updating, quality, consistency and human development.
