New Vice President for Marriott in Cancun

Christopher Calabrese was appointed as Vice President and General Manager of the JW Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa hotel and the CasaMagna Marriott Cancun Resort hotel. Calabrese, who has served as general manager of both properties since 2000, has had extensive experience within Marriott International since 1972.

In his role as general manager, this hospitality industry professional promoted major renovations, institutionalized and updated guest programs, with the purpose of setting the highest standards to enhance the dining and spa experience.

With his experience, Christopher has contributed to the positioning of both establishments, which is reflected in the recognitions received by the JW Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa such as: the five diamonds of the AAA American Automobile Association for the second consecutive year, "Favorite Resort or Hotel Spa of Mexico", by Spa magazine, Golden Apple Awards 2008 by Apple Vacations, among others.

For its part, the CasaMagna Marriott Cancun Resort has received: the five diamonds of the AAA American Automobile Association for the second consecutive year, Golden Apple Award 2008, for Apple Vacations, it is also within the 100 of "The best values preached 2008".

Another aspect that is worth highlighting of the new vice president and general director is the management he gave to the crisis caused during the passage of Hurricane Wilma in 2005, this situation made him worthy of recognition as best manager in 2006.
For these new challenges, Calabrese will work to achieve the business objectives of both resorts. It will also remain true to Marriott's philosophy of spirit of service to guests, associates and the community.
