During the first four months of this year, Colombia's hotel sector registered a fall of 2.1% and in April the index increased to 3.5%, according to the National Administrative Department of Statistics (Dane) in a report published by the local newspaper El Espectador.In the last month in question, hotels that are in a range of 101 to 150 rooms available per month fell 13.3%, those in the range of 51 to 100 rooms did so by 11.1% and those of more than 150 rooms decreased 4.7%.
The Dane report also notes that the total employed staff in hotels in April 2009 decreased by 0.2% compared to the same period in 2008.
