The Hotel La Sierra de Santa Marta, Colombia, received the Three Star category granted by the Hotel Sector Technical Standard (Ntsh 006), after complying with the requirements of quality, safety and customer service standards. According to the local newspaper El Informador, to achieve this recognition the hotel adapted to the demands and needs of the system and also carried out training for its staff.
The Hotel Association of Colombia (Cotelco) advised the hotel to comply with the requirements of the standard, in a work that lasted around two years.
