Hotel rates in the Dominican Republic will not recover and therefore profitability will remain low until 2011, predicted the president of the Association of Hotels and Restaurants (Asonahores), Haydée Kuret de Rainieri, who pointed out that companies in the sector "are going to have a difficult year."During a meeting of the American Chamber of Commerce, Kuret de Rainieri said that to this situation is added the fact that hoteliers have to continue buying all the inputs and assuming the operating costs at the same price.
For the winter season, the president of the Association of Hotels and Restaurants expects occupancy to be at the same level as last year.
