Since March 15, Gerardo Murray has served as Regional Vice President of Sales and Marketing for InterContinental Hotels Group in Mexico.Murray, who is based in Mexico City, will be responsible for developing and overseeing the sales plan and marketing programs for IHG's entire portfolio of hotels in Mexico.
The new regional VP of Sales and Marketing has over 23 years of experience in the hospitality industry. He worked at grupo Hotelero Casa Grande as CEO and General Manager, in addition to directing relations with major investors and the group's marketing fund. He also served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Milenium Grupo Hotelero Mexicano, and in sales at other establishments of the group.
When Gerardo was General Manager of the Holiday Inn Parque Fundidora de Monterrey, he was awarded the 2002 Torchbearer Award.
Eric Pearson, managing director of marketing for the Americas, said the group is very pleased with Murray's appointment, as his experience and knowledge will contribute to the continuous improvement of business objectives, as well as support IHG in its role as the largest hotel company in Mexico.
