More than 100 exhibitors and 4,000 visitors participated in the Horeca 2011 fair, held in Medellín, Colombia, in which suppliers from the hospitality industry showed their novelties. The event that was organized by the National Federation of Merchants, Fenalco, allowed to close deals for more than $ 20,000 million (US $ 10 million) between March 16 and 17.
The organization of the fair stated through a press release that the record of visitors who made purchases or made business contacts with exhibitors amounted to 85%, indicating a high level of specialization.
The exhibiting companies also expressed their satisfaction with the results obtained. One of them was the multinational Corona, which highlighted the business with an Ecuadorian buyer who will supply his restaurants with the tableware of this company. Nora Quintero Calle, head of construction marketing, said that the fair was the perfect showcase to launch new products, especially toilets, sinks and urinals with low water consumption, which are part of the ecological culture.
Suppliers of washing machines, glassware, crockery, construction materials, mattresses, kitchen accessories and refrigeration equipment, among others, were part of the fair in which a day of conferences was also held with topics such as adequate food refrigeration, customer service, among others.
