With a contract for more than 30 years, the Estación de Buenaventura hotel will become part of the Tequendama Hotel Society from the first of June 2011, becoming the fifth hotel of the chain and the first on the Pacific Coast of this country. After an agreement with the Government of Valle del Cauca, owner of the complex, and an investment of close to US$1.8 billion ($3.3 billion Colombian), the company hopes to expand the capacity of the new Tequendama Inn Estación Hotel to 79 rooms and remodel the other spaces to strengthen the theme of events and conventions.
For Orlando Salazar, manager of the Tequendama Hotel, "the commitment is aimed at updating the product and promoting hotel development in the region. However, although the administration will change, the employees who had been working with the other organization will keep their jobs," said the official.
