The Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge hotel was recognized by Forbes magazine as the best accommodation in the archaeological zone of Peru, in a report published last July on its website.
According to Forbes, the hotel is "the best accommodation option for travelers going to Machu Picchu since its location, a few steps from the citadel, allows guests to tour the ruins at dawn or in the afternoon, without the crowds of tourists."
Forbes is an American publication with more than seven million readers in the world, and recognized for listing the richest and most influential people in the world; hence the importance of this qualification that for the first time is granted to a Latin American hotel.
"The difference (with other destinations and hotels) is that deep. There is simply no second choice. It's like being the only one at the ski resort on a big snowy day, or going to the Superbowl and finding out you're the only one with an entrance ticket. Except because those things are not real," Forbes explains in the report, referring to the possibility of seeing the lost city at unusual times.
