The establishment received first place during the National Electric Energy Saving Award after achieving a considerable reduction in the use of this service of 5.02% kilowatt per hour.
The energy reductions at cancun's Ritz-Carlton focused on air conditioner operating systems, lighting control, and hydraulic pumping systems.
The previous year, the hotel won second place in Category C, which recognizes companies, organizations and institutions of large shops and services. The event, organized by the Trust for the Saving of Electric Energy (Fide) and the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE), aims to stimulate Mexican companies and institutions at all levels to optimize their production processes and methods through the rational use of electrical energy.
"At Ritz-Carlton, Cancun we are committed to preserving natural resources, caring for the environment and protecting our community. With great honor we received this award, witness of the tireless effort made day by day by our ladies and gentlemen to safeguard our environment and reduce the effects of climate change, "said the general manager, Carlos Abaunza.
