Peru is celebrating because it continues to demonstrate that its tourism and hotel industry is at the forefront and on par with the most prestigious international destinations.
And to prove it, recently the renowned luxury tourism magazine Condé Nast Traveller presented a list of the 121 best new hotels of 2012, where Peru managed to enter with two of its most exclusive hotels.
It is a ranking that has a curious but effective method to choose the establishments of the highest quality in the service and maximum preference: throughout the year 41 journalists specialized in hospitality issues stay incognito in different hotels in 49 countries around the world.
The Westin Lima Hotel, located in San Isidro, and the Hacienda Concepción in Puerto Maldonado, are the Peruvian establishments that are part of this coveted list.
According to the publication of the Westin Lima Hotel, its comfortable rooms and the services it has stand out; highlights that the Restaurant Maras, attended by chef Rafael Piqueras, demonstrates the training that the professional had in El Bulli.
For its part, Hacienda Concepción has unbeatable facilities, "which allow guests to disconnect from the world," they say from Condé Nast. A curious fact that gives a certain touch of prestige to the establishment is that Mick Jagger, vocalist of the Rolling Stones, visited this lodging days after its inauguration.
