In the framework of the inauguration of the Riu Palace Peninsula hotel in Cancun, Pepe Moreno, CEO of the Riu chain, revealed that the company plans to make an investment of close to US$100 million for the construction of a new property oriented to the corporate market in the city of Bogotá, Colombia.
The representative of the hotel company pointed out that the exact date for the incursion into Colombia has not yet been defined, but emphasized that this market is definitely of interest to the company.
"We don't land in a country just because. We like to be sure, and, for now , we are certain that Colombia is a country that interests us a lot, that grows and that is perfect for the chain," said Moreno.
He also added that the interest arises because they see Colombia as a country with stability on many fronts, with a very strong hotel sector and as an important emitter of tourists.
