The Hotelga hotel and gastronomic fair was inaugurated this week, one of the most outstanding in the region in the field of hotels and restaurants. The event, which takes place at the La Rural fairgrounds in Argentina, will close on September 6.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Tourism, Carlos Meyer, among other authorities of the tourism and hotel industry.
According to the organizers of the exhibition, the National Tournament of Chefs and the National Contest for the Best Sustainable Hotel Project in Argentina, Greener Hotels, will also be held, this will be between the 14th and the 21st of this month.
The Association of Tourism Hotels (AHT) of Argentina, the Gastronomic Hotel Business Federation of the Argentine Republic (FEHGRA) and Ferias Argentinas, organizers of Hotelga, expect during these days the participation of thousands of entrepreneurs and hotel and gastronomic professionals.
During the opening ceremony, the Minister of Tourism emphasized the importance of the tourism industry for the economy of that country, and referred to economic development with social inclusion and the conservation of heritage as "axes of tourism policy that we have promoted since 2003".
Also speaking were the head of Ferias Argentinas, Enrique Pepino; the president of FEHGRA, Oscar Ghezzi; the president of the AHT, Pablo Goldszier, and Hernán Lombardi, Minister of Culture and Tourism of the City of Buenos Aires.
