Colombia. With business expectations above 200 million dollars, well above the 143.6 million reached in 2012, the twenty-first edition of Expocamacol 2014, the International Fair of Construction, Architecture and Design, was closed, which between August 27 and 30 was held at Plaza Mayor Conventions and Exhibitions Medellín.
The figure results from consolidating the data provided by Proexport Colombia with its mission of international buyers, those of the Chamber of Commerce of Medellín for Antioquia with national buyers and the data obtained directly by Camacol Antioquia with the exhibiting companies.
Proexport's international mission was made up of 201 buyers from 24 countries, who generated business expectations of US$169.6 million, with the United States as the country that led the business opportunities, followed by Panama, Guatemala, Chile and Ecuador. As for products, tiles, metal panels, glass, ceramic floors, laces, doors, furniture and architectural carpentry, were the most demanded.
As for visitors, the balance is also very positive, with a growth of almost 10 thousand people more than in the 2012 edition, going from 44,411 that year to 53,970 in 2014. Of this total number of visitors, 1,317 were international, from 58 countries.
The twenty-second edition of Expocamacol will be held in 2016, in Plaza Mayor Conventions and Exhibitions Medellín.
