Aruba. The Aruba Airport Authority (AAA) announced that it will make a major investment in Queen Beatrix International Airport that will include the modernization of the entire terminal and the installation of more environmentally friendly technologies.
For example, part of the runway lights will be replaced in their entirety with state-of-the-art LED lights, while the current car park will be renovated with solar panels that will cover the entire area and generate the energy necessary for its operation.
Peter Steinmetz, OUTGOING CEO of AAA, explained that with the expansion of the general aviation platform it is expected to accommodate more than double the current number of private jets.
Likewise, the expansion of the A/B waiting room will double the capacity for handling remote passenger operations, a project that goes hand in hand with the expansion of two remote aircraft parking stands.
"An airport with constant investments must be able to provide its users with a preview of what they can expect before their arrival," Steinmetz said.
