Mexico. The arrival of Kia Motors, as well as other important multinational companies, to the state of Nuevo León will boost the good performance of this Mexican region in the real estate sector with a greater demand for both industrial and office spaces, announced the fimar Jones Lang LaSalle.
In particular, the city of Monterrey has led in recent years the offer of the industrial segment in northern Mexico, contributing 38 percent of the total occupied spaces with more than 9 million square meters in 2014.
Similarly, at the end of the fourth quarter of last year, the Metropolitan Area of Monterrey registered an unemployment rate of 7 percent, with industrial spaces available for 650 thousand square meters.
"During the past year, about 196,000 square meters were built and the rental price stood at $4.68 per square foot, which compares favorably with the region's average rent of $4.19 per square foot," the firm said.
