Colombia. In its sixth version, Construverde Colombia 2015, International Forum & Expo Sustainable Design and Construction, will develop an agenda focused on issues of great relevance to the national agenda of policies and actions to achieve sustainable cities. The event will feature experts who will share new trends in environmentally responsible projects, materials and solutions.
According to Cristina Gamboa, executive director of the Colombian Council for Sustainable Construction (CCCS), "Construverde Colombia 2015 will demonstrate how the sector can contribute to the challenges posed by post-conflict, climate change and the strategy of low-carbon development and green growth, the latter contained in the National Development Plan. During the contest we will have the leaders and experts who, through keynote talks, thematic rooms and showcases of projects, materials and solutions, will provide us with lights and tools to make our cities more equitable, safe, healthy and sustainable".
Among the new trends in sustainability that the event will exhibit, the concept of People Design (sustainable design for people) stands out; WELL Building Standard® and healthy spaces; sustainable learning environments - Green Schools; and solutions from the community in Colombian projects.
As novelties for the Colombian case, Construverde will present the advances in public policies and application of new regulations such as Decree 1285/2015 on Sustainable Construction Guidelines for Buildings and Resolution 549 of July 10, 2015, through which the Guide to water and energy efficiency is regulated; in addition, solutions for sustainable urban infrastructure will be discussed; dynamics of the LEED Market®, as well as the advances and challenges in energy efficiency in Colombian buildings.
Gamboa added that "attendees will find leaders who will inspire them to continue doing green business, knowledge on how to apply the latest innovations and delve into techniques and technologies to build sustainable environments and communities that improve the quality of life of Colombians."
Construverde will take place on Wednesday, September 9 and Thursday, September 10 at the Cubo de Colsubsidio in Bogotá, organized by the CCCS. For more information www.construverde.co.
