Colombia. During a recent visit to Colombia by Javier Lomelín, CEO of Colliers International Latin America, the leader highlighted the advantages of the real estate market in this country and pointed out that it remains a very attractive destination for foreign investors. According to the executive, one of the main characteristics of Colombia and advantage over other countries in the region, is that it has multiple cities with high urban development that generate an important movement in the real estate sector, this in contrast to neighboring countries that have a main city that dominates the entire market.
"The real estate sector in the region has become sophisticated and professionalized in recent years, now has great liquidity in the market and a great appetite for investment in the sector by institutional funds. On the other hand there is the issue of multilatinas and multinational companies that are demanding services and spaces of first categories in the real estate sector, "said Javier Lomelín in an interview with the local media Metro Cuadrado.
Roberto Cáceres, general manager of Colliers International Colombia, complemented the previous information stating that "one of the great advantages that Colombia has for investors is the economic and political stability of the country, it has never stopped paying the external debt, in addition the economic policy has made the great global financial crises, especially the recent ones, have not affected us, which translates into some peace of mind in the medium and long term for the real estate business."
