Software AG presents predictive maintenance project

mantenimientoInternational. Software AG presented a predictive maintenance project for its Digital Business Platform software. This new functionality offers remote asset tracking capabilities to anticipate possible incidents of equipment and devices. This was possible thanks to the realization of an alliance with the company ServiceMax and its management of field services.

The union of the services of both companies allows to have a more complete program that converts events into actionable service requests. Punctually, the Digital Business Platform connects with any gateway with sensors, extracting all the data collected by the teams, carrying out a real-time analysis and generating personalized maintenance alerts. These alerts are then sent to the ServiceMax platform where they are converted into work orders. Once created, work orders are sent to service technicians.

The solution takes advantage of the Internet of Things by analyzing real-time data obtained from the equipment's sensors continuously through machine monitoring, in order to know when it will be necessary to carry out maintenance work. The location of the technician is associated with the availability of the tools needed for repair or replacement work and with the time needed to complete the task. In this way, the best available technician is determined to carry out the required service during a scheduled downtime.

Sean Riley, Global Head of Manufacturing and Logistics at Software AG, said: "The key to predictive asset maintenance is its ability to act in response to the results of the analysis in real time and communicate reliable expectations to the parties involved in maintenance services work. With the Predictive Maintenance project, managers can capture, analyze, aggregate and act to aggregate Internet of Things data to maximize uptime, quality performance and equipment production."
