Recently arrived in Paraguay the system of self-irrigated gardens for terraces and exteriors, with this it is intended to offer what has been considered as a good solution for the construction sector, especially in the building segment.
This technology mimics the properties of nature by distributing rainwater equitably for functions that seek to take advantage of water that would have been wasted at other times.
The new application is designed on earthenware and is owned by the company Remaster that launched the tool in the recent edition of ConstruTech 2013 that was held in Asunción.
According to engineer Anderson Souza Costa, of the Remaster company, this is an innovation that was born from the search for answers to isolate land that was contaminated and that should be covered with slab. The application is made of plastic and allows the growth of plants and even shrubs which means an advantage.
This new possibility has become an element that maintains the safety conditions of the building, prevents wear and tear of the concrete structure and allows the reduction of water use by up to 30% compared to sprinkler irrigation systems. In addition, it also reduces the temperature and the risk of concrete breakage.
Souza spoke of the possibility that the root of plants growing in the system have very strong roots and damage the functioning of the system. "The deep roots could hinder the functioning of the system, but this was solved through the application of an anti-root pill, which is applied to stop the advance of the roots, which could hinder the normal passage of water or even affect the strands of the plates."
