The new Forensic Sciences building in the honduran capital was inaugurated this week. With this new space, the utorities of the Public Ministry hope to avoid the limitations that were had in what has to do with the physical infrastructure of the dependency.
According to Marvin Cruz, spokesman for the Ministry, the new structure was built where the morgue was and had a total cost of US$4.3 million, financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
In addition, the official expressed, on behalf of the entire department, feeling happy as an institution "but also for the population that is the one that uses, unfortunately, these facilities."
The new building will operate from there the entire Directorate of Forensic Medicine, including the laboratories and the morgue. It will also be possible to meet all the requirements and requests that are generated throughout the national territory of Honduras with an investigative offer that will include the services of vehicle expertise, ballistics laboratory, pathological anatomy, DNA laboratories, toxicology, criminalistics, among others.
