The University of Monterrey (UdeM), in Mexico, is currently preparing the construction of a building for its high school area, a project that will have important sustainability characteristics.
The building will be carried out under the concept of a "green" project and will be located in Valle Alto, Monterrey, in addition, it will have an investment of close to US $ 21 million and will focus on achieving Leed certification.
Spokesmen of the institution have explained that this new headquarters, which will be built on part of the land of the Monterrey Equestrian Club, will have green roofs, efficient air conditioning, windows with double glazing, air chamber, acoustic ceilings, luminaires with natural light sensors, insulation in the interior wall and furniture made with a high percentage of recycled materials.
From the institution it has been reported that the complex will have a total of ten buildings, four of them for academic classrooms of three levels each and it is expected to have about 370 spaces for car parking.
"It is expected that the works will begin at the end of this year, when the preparation of the land is finished," they say from the University of Monterrey.
