Recently the director of Civil Protection of the Municipality of the Municipality of Juárez, Efrén Matamoros Barraza, revealed through a statement that the fire systems that are installed in some of the companies in the town are not functional, nor are they in the capacity to attend to an accident.
This situation arises, according to the official, because of the lack of preventive maintenance to the equipment that must be used for this type of situation.
Matamoros stated that he reached this conclusion during the inspections that his area carries out to local companies, there it was observed that although many of them have the required equipment and sufficient system to fight fires, in most cases the system is inoperative for the reasons mentioned.
This fact has set off all the alarms in terms of security, because in case of an accident related to fire there would be no way to face it. Faced with this situation, the Civil Protection Directorate of Juárez took legal action to correct these deficiencies.
According to the current standard, Matamoros said, it is essential that every year companies present an updated Contingency Plan and a periodic review of the systems and equipment that provide the service, as well as a frequent review of the devices that may cause situations of risk and danger.
