After 50 years of paying rent, the new headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce and Industries of the South of Choluteca, Honduras, located in the Balkan area, was recently inaugurated.
Jaime Umaña, president of the organization, was satisfied with the effort made that had a large investment of a little more than US $ 800,000, between land, construction, remodeling and expansion of the headquarters.
The executive stressed that this project was carried out without the help of the Federation of Chambers of Honduras and was fully financed by the businessmen of the south.
On the other hand, another inauguration of a modern building took place in recent days in the town of San Pedro Sula; it is the headquarters of the Permanent Contingency Commission (Copeco), which had a total cost of more than US$350,000.
The building consists of an emergency operations center, administrative offices and a logistics warehouse.
The structure was built with the support of the Government of Spain as part of the Modernization and Institutional Transformation project.
In addition to this new building, Copeco will have a weather radar located on the Cerro de Hula in Tegucigalpa. The staff will be trained in the handling of special vehicles donated by Spain and in urban and aquatic rescue work.
In the same region a shopping center will be built together with a hotel, the first stone was already laid in early December and it is expected that by November 2013 the complex will be completed.
The Karim's Group will be the investor of the project, with a sum of between 12 and US$15 million, meanwhile, the company Altia will be the operator of the initiative.
The complex will be called Altara and one of the novelties of the project will be a relaxation and entertainment center for the people who collaborate with the construction of the complex.
According to Gustavo Raudales, vice president of Real Estate of karim's Group, this work will be considered the first smart city in San Pedro Sula and Honduras.
