Wyndham expands in the Caribbean
With the 251-unit Wyndham Cacique Royal project in Turks and Caicos Island's Pirate Bay, the Wyndham brand is expanding in various parts of the Caribbean. The Cacique Royal will improve the hotel offer, currently in only 100 rooms in small inns, and will give visibility to the island, which jumped into the international arena when a modern cruise facility was opened in 2007, which attracted more than 300,000 people in the first nine months of operations. Likewise, a property will be opened in 2009 in St. Croix, and another is planned for the south of Punta Cana, in the Dominican Republic. In addition, the chain is in talks with the government of Trinidad and Tobago to manage the former Hilton Tobago Golf & Spa resort, whose contract with the Hilton chain has just ended.
