The first Hilton hotel in Chile will come into operation in March 2011, according to Hilton International's Vice President of Operations for South America, Tom Potter, whose construction will be completed by the end of October, when the finishing phase will begin.The Hilton Gardenn Inn Airport Santiago, located in the Enea Business Park of the Chilean capital, is aimed at business travelers and will have 144 rooms equipped with high-definition televisions, microwave ovens, mini-refrigerators, coffee makers and wi-fi internet, as well as an indoor pool, spa, gym and 400 square meters of meeting space. with two lounges, six meeting rooms and a 24-hour business center.
The hotel chain plans to build more higher category establishments in Santiago "because the city has different commercial areas and market segments that we want to serve. We have to consider the proposals that are presented to us," Potter explained. He added that Hilton is interested in opening three other hotels in Iquique, Antofagasta and Concepción.
