The year 2012 hopes to be a differentiator for Panama in terms of the opening of new hotels. The Central American country plans to open 20 new establishments that would add 6,000 new rooms to reach a total of 15,000 rooms.
The total investment, which is already under development, is close to US$1.5 billion and is mainly made by renowned international hotel brands such as Westin, Wyndham, Hyatt, Hard Rock, Waldorf Astoria, Sonesta and Aloft.
Likewise, in the interior of the country the Association of Small Hoteliers of Panama (Hoppan) expects the opening of small hotels, hostels and cabins that will be located in the central area, which will also improve the tourist image of that area.
