NH reconverts a neoclassical palace in Madrid into five stars

A careful rehabilitation recovers this building of 1808, work of Jorge Durán and in whose design collaborated Juan de Villanueva, responsible for the Prado Museum. Thanks to this inauguration and, after joining Hesperia Hotels, NH Hoteles is positioned in Madrid as a leader in the number of hotels with 39 establishments in the capital.

NH Hoteles has converted a noble mansion from the nineteenth century into a five-star hotel. The new NH Palacio de Tepa is a luxurious establishment located in Madrid's Barrio de las Letras, surrounded by galleries, boutiques, cafes, jazz venues and the animation of Huertas Street.

Its 84 rooms have been decorated by the architecture and design studio of Ramón Esteve in comfortable gray and beige tones. Rooms include luxurious suites, 13 junior suites, 2 "Pure Estate" junior suites and 2 Premium suites.

Each type of room offers different interior design options, so the rooms on the fifth floor of the new NH Palacio de Tepa create a particularly cozy atmosphere with sloping ceilings and minimalist decoration. All rooms have views of the streets and squares of the neighborhood, recently rehabilitated.

It is also a hotel with many memories. Historians maintain that poets and playwrights such as Prospero Merimée (the author of the libretto of "Carmen") stayed sporadically in the Palacio de los Montijo y Tepa during their visits to Madrid, due to the vocation of the first owners of today's NH Palacio de Tepa as promoters of arts and letters.

In the gastronomic chapter, the hotel includes the à la carte restaurant Palacio de Tepa, a lounge bar and the second "Estado Puro" by Paco Roncero (awarded with two Michelin stars).
