Conclusions of the conference on energy efficiency organized by the ITH
Subsidies and suppliers are the key to implementing energy efficiency measures in hotels
This is one of the conclusions reached at the Energy Efficiency Conference organized by the ITH, the buderus company and the Hotel Union of Asturias in Quintueles, Villaviciosa.
One of the realities observed in the conferences organized by the Hotel Technology Institute (ITH) is the existence of energy efficiency solutions applicable to any type of hotel regardless of its size, typology or geographical location. On the other hand, the investment to undertake them is no longer an impediment, for two reasons: the first is the proliferation of ESES (Energy Services Companies) supplier companies whose commercial policies incorporate business models with guaranteed savings (performance contracting, among others) and with very low or non-existent initial investments. It is also possible to have lines of aid and subsidies from the different administrations. One of the objectives of the day was to publicize these financing plans and how to access them.
The objective of the day was to inform in a useful and first-hand way the representatives of this sector about the existing possibilities when it comes to renewing the thermal installations in their businesses and the most competitive products and services to generate saving measures, using thermal installations.
During the meeting, three presentations and a round table took place in which all the steps prior to decision-making in energy management, the innovation of this type of facilities and their financing were addressed in depth. The event was attended by the president of the Hotel Union of the Principality of Asturias, Javier Álvarez, and the director of the Hotel Technology Institute, Álvaro Carrillo.
