International. KNX Association has announced the opening of the deadline for submitting projects for a new edition of the KNX Award 2018. Until November 24, the deadline will be open for companies from all over the world to register their projects on the website enabled in one of the five categories: International, Publictiy, Energy Efficiency, Youth and Special. The awards will be presented during the Light+Building fair in Frankfurt am Main, at the KNX TOP Event 2018 which will be attended by more than 2,000 spectators from around 80 countries.
Considered one of the most important awards in the field of housing and building control technology since 1998, "the KNX Award is an absolute must for all DEVELOPERS of KNX projects who want to highlight their innovative spirit, knowledge and ingenuity in the implementation of sophisticated projects for the intelligent construction of networks and as a guarantee of high attention", Franz Kammerl, President of the KNX Association, said, looking back at the success story of the award.
Selection criteria
From among all the applications received, a jury will select in December the best projects of the five categories. The size and scope of KNX installations are not decisive. Instead, the focus will be on criteria such as the variety of trades involved, flexibility and expansion options, the degree of automation and complexity of the installation, ease of use and user acceptance, as well as the use of products from different manufacturers.
"Technical progress in home and building control technology is occurring on a large and small scale, and likewise around the world. The KNX Award takes this into account in its evaluation criteria and by the fact that it is awarded for all continents in the individual categories, Kammerl stresses. The jury is composed of neutral experts from the KNX world and the KNX Association. In addition to the KNX Cup, all winners will receive a bonus of 1,000 euros.
